5 Miler Night Hike: Towson
Details
Because a number of parks containing trails close at sunset, does not mean ceasing our hiking activities and health goals on a weekday. Thus, now through March 2025, we are providing weekday urban night hikes.
We will experience Towson's beautiful neighborhoods & venture through some wooded trails. Bring a headlamp, mobile phone with flashlight, etc. for added illumination.
Nice temperatures in the upper 60s expected.
Definitely bring a great social attitude and a fun spirit. Also come with water.
EVERYONE submitting a RSVP for this hike will START on the Waitlist. Next, we will add consistently reliable members and then attempt to give others a chance to participate.
PLEASE READ detailed information below in "NOTE", "SUGGESTED MATERIALS", "WHERE TO MEET", "RSVP COMMON COURTESY" and "DOGS" (Thanks!).
NOTE: This is primarily a paved terrain hike. There are a few fun hills (Elevation Gain @ approximately 375 feet). This is a hike for those who hike or walk at least 5 miles per week at a moderate pace. If you have challenges going up and down hills then this hike may not be for you. Also please RSVP only if you can maintain a medium pace during the hike. THANKS.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Running/trail running shoes, sneakers or comfortable walking shoes with treads. and a headlamp, mobile phone, etc. for illumination.
WHERE TO MEET:
- Meet & start 5:45 pm from the Burlington parking lot located in the Towson Place mall.
- Use coordinates 39.397032046501145, -76.58115503814084 or click here .
RSVP COMMON COURTESY: Only RSVP if you intend to make the hike a priority, not just an option. Specifically, it is Not fair to take a confirmed spot, then cancel less than 48 hours in advance, limiting your fellow Maryland Hiking and Adventuring members' in “waitlist” status the potential to participate!
DOGS: There is a limit of one dog for this hike. Please send or post a message if you want to bring a dog. You and the dog must keep pace. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The dog is well behaved around our group, others and other dogs on trail. Keep the dog hydrated throughout the hike. Thanks!
WHY WE VOLUNTEER: Your organizers are volunteers and we are sharing our passion for the outdoors. We organize events for fun, to socialize, get exercise, experience nature and meet cool new people. No bad attitudes please. :)
DISCLAIMERS: At all our events, please remember you are responsible for your own safety. We cannot eliminate all risk for those who attend this event and you must take responsibility for yourself. Our organizers will do their best to use common sense to minimize our risks.
Most of all, I look forward to our hike. For any last minute concerns, my cell is 410-977-5358.
