What we’re about
We warmly welcome all who are interested in meditation, contemplative practices, and community.
“Peace is not a state where there is no emotion, a state where there is no feeling or energy. Rather, peace is the source of everything; it is what we are, what is. However, peace is not a mystical experience. It is that which remains both still and active and that which radiates, full of life.” – Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

They are studied and contemplated in all schools of Buddhism, providing a framework for understanding the true nature of suffering and the path to liberation from suffering.
The five-session class will consist of meditation, contemplation, dharma talks, and discussion, with a focus on how we can apply these teachings in daily life and on the meditation cushion. This is a basic Buddhist class that is for anyone, whatever level of experience you have of meditation or Buddhist study. It can be excellent preparation to help us make best use of the weeklong group sitting that begins the week after the class ends.
- Young Meditators GatheringBoulder Shambhala Meditation Center, Boulder, CO
The Young Meditators group exists to foster a community of young adults who meditate, practice mindfulness, and learn to engage with the challenges of life in skillful ways.
We practice recognizing our own basic wholeness, wisdom, and compassion through group meditation, and often follow that with conversations or readings. Occasionally, we invite senior teachers to give short teachings on topics relevant to our experience.
We welcome all individuals, although most participants range from 18-late 30’s. No meditation experience is necessary to join. - Thursday Night Open ClassBoulder Shambhala Center, Boulder, CO
Every Thursday from 7pm to 8:30pm
All are warmly invited any or every Thursday evening to the Boulder Shambhala Center where a senior teacher will lead a period of sitting meditation practice (with meditation instruction for those who are new) followed by a presentation with questions and discussion. Each week’s presentation is on a topic inspired by the Buddhist, Shambhala or Arts & Culture, contemplative paths. At the end there will be refreshments and time to socialize. Beginners and advanced practitioners are all welcome!
