Program

Brahms, Serenade #2
Mahler, Symphony #10, Adagio
Barber, Medea’s Dance of Vengeance

The University Philharmonia Orchestra presents Mahler’s only completed movement of his Tenth Symphony, the mournful yet transcendent Adagio. The program also includes two works that display entirely different forms of romanticsim: Brahms’s breezy Serenade #2, and Barber’s Medea’s Dance of Vengeance.

*****************************************
With a string section comprising all freshman, the Philharmonia Orchestra provides student musicians an immersive opportunity to improve their large ensemble skills and play some of the greatest works in the symphonic repertoire.
