Printmaking class (etching)

This event is for beginners but the more the merrier.  Etching is a form of Printmaking. Etching is a long process. We will guide you through to the finish piece.
We will apply a soft ground to the zinc plate. scribing our image through the ground, exposing the metal plate.  We will then etch into the metal by using acid. 
Now that our drawing is complete, this is where the ink will lay. A large printing press will be used to pull the ink out and onto the paper.

All materials are included in our four week series. We will be using black ink and each student will be given 10 sheets of paper to print on.

If you’re familiar with this way of printing, and you would like to bring your own plate,
Ink or tools you’re more than welcome to.

Classes will be every Thursdays from January 9th to  January 30th.
