Authentically dressed seventeenth century soldiers march from
St James Palace to the Banqueting Hall on Whitehall to commemorate the beheading of Charles I by the Roundheads. Complete with horses, canons and muskets. We meet at the Red Lion, a tiny pub at 23 Crown Passage. The huddle of halberdiers will alert you from a distance. A photographers dream for fans of history. I'll be wearing a maroon shirt but the odds are stacked against you being able to locate me. I'll be there from about 10.45 am.
