The Boxing Day Revitaliser

At Wild Wanders we care about your health and wellbeing, so when you wake up on Boxing Day morning feeling 10 lbs heavier thanks to the Christmas Turkey, Christmas pudding, mince pies and copious amounts of wine, what better way to help clear away the Christmas fug then with a brisk and bracing walk across the barren and windswept hills of Dartmoor 😊
We will meet in Scorriton near Buckfastleigh and follow the Two Moors Way west towards Pupers Hill and then on to Ryders Hill before heading back east along Sandy Way. We will regroup in the Tradesman Arms and compare Christmas stories.
This is a 7.5 mile route and generally easy going underfoot but you should be of a reasonable level of fitness. Guests and dogs are very welcome. Obviously the weather is a factor so please dress accordingly.
Admin Notes
There is a small fee of £2 for each walk (paid in cash on the day) to cover costs of the meetup page which is currently £200 per year and also to cover some minor expenses incurred when reconnoitring walks, mostly fuel and a pint.
This is a not for profit group intended as a social event for people who share an interest in the natural world. You are responsible for your own safety and welfare so please come appropriately dressed for a long rural walk taking account of the prevailing weather conditions. Should you participate in any foraging events, it is your own responsibility to identify, to your own satisfaction, anything you plan to eat. Some walks may involve an additional degree of physical challenge. If so, this will be clearly stated in the description. If you then choose to participate in these activities you do so at your risk.
