What we’re about

What the heck is Hash House Harriers?
We are a drinking group with a running problem... The Hash House Harriers (HHH or H3) is an international group of non-competitive running/walking/hiking social clubs called kennels. Our events are known as a hash, hash run or simply hashing, with our members calling themselves hashers or hares and hounds.

Our objectives are:
1. To promote physical fitness amongst its members.
2. To get rid of weekend hangovers.
3. To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer.
4. To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel.
Hashing originated in December 1938 in Malaysia, when a group of British colonial officers and expatriates began meeting on Monday evenings to run.

The Narwhal H3 (New London, CT) kennel hashes once a month on Sundays all year round, please see our event page for dates and details. We are bunch of silly people of all ages that get together to hash and let our hair down (or put it up if you’ve got a mohawk), find beer on trail (you must be 21 and over), and partake in general tomfoolery. We don’t take ourselves seriously, are a bit irreverent, and we are not easily offended. Come join us and see what kind of fun we’ve been having since the 1930’s!

***Note: We are now a vaccinated-only kennel.
