What is Mafia?
Mafia is a ten-player social game (if more players arrive, we divide it into two or more tables!). You'll get a secret role and work with your team to win. Each game takes around 45 minutes, so we play multiple games in a row when we meet. The goal of the Mafia Team is to eliminate the rest of the players, the Citizens. The Citizens try to figure out who the Mafia members are and eliminate them.
Don't worry if you're new, we always have plenty of new players who are warmly welcomed. We'll explain everything you need to know. Prior knowledge or experience is not required!
How does the game work?
The game has two phases: Night and Day. During the Day, everyone briefly discusses who they think the Mafia are, then vote to eliminate a suspect. During the Night, the Mafia can eliminate an innocent Citizen. There are also two special roles: the Don (Mafia) and the Sheriff (Citizen). At night, the Sheriff will wake up secretly and choose one player to learn if they are Citizen or Mafia. The Don will also wake up secretly during the night and choose one player to check if they are the Sheriff. Both these roles are vital in helping their respective teams win.
The game continues until either the Mafia Team is eliminated or The Mafia outnumbers (or equals to) the Citizens. But you don't need to remember all of this; the best way to learn this game is to play it!
