Join us for a fun and inspiring gathering of fellow writers hosted by KWENCH! This event is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, talk about your work, and gain valuable feedback.
Each meetup begins with a round of introductions followed by a short (~15 minute) presentation about something related to the writers' craft, business or tools and techniques.
The 'formal' part of the evening wraps up around 5:30 pm, and we move from the boardroom to the KWENCH lounge, where we have another hour and a half to network and mingle with fellow writers. A full bar is available (debit and credit cards only; no cash).
This month we'll hear from best selling author Jonathan Hennessey about his career trajectory in Traditional Publishing.
Description:
What does being a working writer look like in the world of traditional publishing?
Here at Writer’s Connect, we’ve examined how self-publishing in digital formats can be a path to success. How might it be different if you have the good fortune to land an agent and have books released by mainstream publishers? **New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Hennessey—author of six nonfiction graphic novels from Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Macmillan—**will offer the frank and in-depth example of his own career, talking projects that did and didn’t happen, did and didn’t go well, did and didn’t make any money, contracts, agents, editors, marketing, and what to expect from the career of a “mid-list” author.
