Sunday Morning Neighborhood Rides and More

Nice pocket neighborhood at South West parkway and South MoPac. Some great views and a few undulations.

Ride the Southern Walnut Creek Trail and the Austin to Manor trail and back. The last 3 miles to Manor is brand new, goes under TX 130, and is the nicest bike path in the area right now. The full route will be 22 miles round trip. If you preferer a more traditional length ride or don’t want to climb the big SWCT hill then you can park at the Austin Tennis and Pickleball Center parking lot which we will detour to at about 25 minutes into the ride (17 miles round trip with no hills). The pace will be a social 10 MPH and there will be plenty of other riders.

Since it’s an out and back ride you determine the distance you want to do. We can stop at convenience store a few blocks from the end at Ben E Fisher Park in Manor. The weather will be in the 70s and sunny – absolutely beautiful!

Wimberley has large painted boots around town. We will see how many we can find. They make Wimberley "Bootiful". We will start off the square and go over to Blue Hole park. Then ride along several sections the Blanco river.

Rehydrate!

It’s that time of year to get out and see the lights! Circle C is as good as any neighborhood with smooth roads and lots of lights.

Let’s get together for another HH. We ride by this place often. It’s got great beer and lots of outdoor seating.

Slab BBQ is right next door if you’re hungry.

Back in the day this neighborhood was the airport. We will ride in and around The lake, the various hoods and see some interesting art.

No drop ride. Mostly roads, 10-12 miles, 10-12 mph with a few stops.

8 am - Gravel ride

Rob will lead a ride around town lake. Expect 10 miles at around 10MPH.

9:30ish - Polar bear Plunge!

Every year (excluding covid) Dean does the polar bear plunge at Barton Springs.

He has done it on 70 degree days and 20 degree days. This year he is looking a few brave souls to join him in the annual plunge ==OR== Come laugh at those who do jump.

Parking can get cRaZy so I park up by the Zilker tree and walk down.
