We're Not Really Strangers #4
Details
WNRS #4
You know something deeper is out there? New to Halifax? Want to meet REAL people? Want to feel more expressed and authentic?
If you answered yes to any of those, you're in the right place.
The purpose of this group is to create a space where the NORM is authenticity. A space where we do our best to step out from the conditioned "how are you?" "good, you?" "what do you do? where are you from?" and step into the land of connection.
We will create this space by consciously creating it.
Each meetup will last about 2 hours (you can always make plans with others after) and we will always start by some type of icebreaker to help untangle you from the norm of societies time pressure, perfectionism, pleasing, pretending and more into your natural self. This may be eye gazing or some improv stuff.
Next and what will be the majority of this Meetup is the raw, honest conversations that will be prompted by certain questions I will lay out (Inspired by the card game "werenotreallystangers").
For example, you may be in a group of 4 and for 20 minutes you each take a turn answering/responding to a certain deep question prompted to you like "What is one thing you're still trying to unlearn?".
My friend and I hosted this exact Meetup format in Buenos Aires and it was a unbelievable success. Every meetup was maxed out and unfortunately we couldn't have the same people twice in the meetup as the waitlist got so long.
People are craving deep connection and this is the best way I have found to meet awesome people that you wouldn't never had the chance to meet otherwise.
I haven't solidified the place where this will take place yet. But expect this group to start hosting meetups in the next couple weeks. The first one will be limited to 8-10 people so I recommend joining the group so you can be notified when I release the schedule.
A little about me:
Growing up I had a severe stutter. I realized that it was primarily fueled by the fear of judgement from others. I started leaving my comfort zone and desensitizing myself to that fear. Fast forward 3 years and I have a coaching business helping people who stutter be themselves. Fast forward 5 years, after many psychedelic sittings all over the world, I feel extremely drawn into the world of psychedelic assisted therapy and now I am on track to become licensed. Now we are here, I'm new to Halifax and looking to create a community ðŸ¤
***Updated Rules and Format***👇
Due to the high demand for spots in this group, I will ask you to only sign up for 1 group every 4 meetups (sign up meaning you actually get to attend). We will start with this rule and go from there.
So if you got a spot in WNRS #1, then the next one you can attend in WNRS #5.
The schedule for this meetup will be 2 weeks on, 1 week off. Meaning WRNS #1 this week and WRNS #2 next week, break for week after and WRNS #3 the week after break. The schedule will show this.
Each WNRS meetup group member will be added into a group chat (if they want) so that they can independently hangout, do stuff together if they feel called to (this way its not like you're waiting 4 weeks to go to another meetup but are able to create your own event with the people you've met).
The "break" week, I will organize something that will bring the previous 2 weeks of WRNS meetup members together. This won't be the same format as the WRNS meetup but rather an event, hike, dinner or something that members of the previous 2 meetups may suggest. This may be a paid event (such as dinner, or renting sauna) and may be limited to a number of people as well. First come first serve.
Lastly, if you are signed up to attend a meetup and can't come, please cancel your RSVP within 24 hours of the meetup.
Failure to do so will give you a pass 1 time but if it happens twice, you have lost your chance to rejoin. I must be rigid in this area as group numbers are relatively small per meetup and people showing up is a necessity for this meetup to run.
