Hikes for the 40+ Crowd

Let's hike this great loop around the Palmer Lake Reservoirs!

We will start at the Reservoir lot and work our way up to the two reservoirs. Then we will skirt around the backside and up to the juncture of the ChautauquaTrail. Here we will cruise back down to meet the Limbaugh Trail and pop out in a tiny neighborhood, where we will follow the road a short distance back to the lot.

This trail is rated intermediate+

We're heading up to Larkspur for this popular trek!

We will make our way out of the parking lot to hang a left onto the Oak Trail, which will wind us up to the main Spruce Mountain Trail. Once we climb to the top notch, we are afforded a wonderful view south over Palmer and the local area. We continue west from here and split right to hike a loop around to another spectacular overlook facing west. Continuing around, we close our loop back at the Spruce Mtn Trail and back down the mountain to the parking lot.

Total elevation gain ~580'

Spikes highly recommended, esp with any incoming snow. Dogs allowed on leash. Hope to see you all there!
