As Master Beekeepers with over 65 years combined experience and the founders of the original Hays County Beekeepers Association (precursor to the Texas Natural Beekeepers Association), Les Crowder and Nathalie B. of Bee Mindful, LLC are committed to educating both beekeepers and the public about honey bees and native bees in Hays County, Travis County, and the greater Austin area.
Together they host free weekly "Bee Social" gatherings, which anyone can join to get started and learn about beekeeping, network with other beekeepers, endlessly chat about honeybees and other pollinators, share books and ideas on the subject, help each other, and establish some cooperatively managed honeybee colonies around town.
As pesticides, fungicides, scarce forage and other pests and diseases threaten our bee populations of collapse, Les Crowder and Nathalie B. strive to educate interested people on sustainable beekeeping best practices, and the tools beekeepers need to promote and maintain healthy colonies without the use of poisons; while answering questions both beekeepers and the general public may have about bees, and more particularly honey bees.
