Hike: Borderland State Park
Details
Hi everyone! We know it’s been a while, but we’re excited to finally host another hike! This time, we’re inviting pet owners to bring their dogs along (please make sure your dogs are comfortable around other dogs and people).
Details:
Location: Borderlands State Park
Meeting Point: At the end of the parking lot where the bathrooms are located. There is a bench nearby, and we will gather there.
Meeting Time: 11:00 a.m., with a 15-minute grace period. If anyone arrives after that, feel free to catch up to our group, as we will be making multiple stops along the way.
Duration: We expect the hike to last around 2 hours.
Borderlands State Park is very dog-friendly, with mostly flat trails that make for an enjoyable and accessible hike. There are multiple paths to explore, so we’ll have options based on the group’s preferences. Be sure to bring water for both you and your furry friends, any necessary supplies (like waste bags), and proper footwear for the trails.
Park Features: In addition to hiking, Borderlands State Park offers disc golf, fishing, horseback riding, and tennis. The park is also home to the historic Ames Mansion, famously featured in the first Knives Out film.
Reminders & Suggestions:
Dog Safety: Keep your dogs on a leash at all times and pick up after them to help keep the park clean.
Supplies: Pack extra water, snacks for you and your dog, and any necessary first-aid items.
Weather Prep: Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Consider bringing a towel or blanket for your dog if it’s cold or muddy.
Interactive Fun: We’d love for you to share photos and stories of your dogs during the hike—let’s capture some fun memories together!
Other Activities: If you have extra time after the hike, consider exploring the park’s additional activities or taking a tour of the Ames Mansion.
We can’t wait to enjoy a fun day outdoors with you and your four-legged companions. See you there!
