What we’re about

Di Zi Gui (弟子規), in English, means standards for being a good student and child. It is the guide to a happy life. For thousand of years, this book serves as the recommended standards for students. It is a book of maxims that was written by ancient Chinese sages. Memorized by children when they were young, the book provided guidelines that would enable them to learn how to become a good child and student and, later, a good adult, parent, friend, and citizen. To the casual reader, the maxims can appear to be straightforward and easy to carry out.

In this book, there are a total of 90 lines of maxims. Each discussion session in the library will take about 1 hour. Attendees will learn how to pronounce the words, understand the meaning of each line, follow by discussion of how we can apply it in school, at workplace, at home, or practically anyway. Anyone at any age is welcomed to join this group. You are welcomed to bring your children or grandchildren to come and study together as well. Study materials (in hard copy) will be distributed in class.
