November Beaver Moon Night Hike at the Volcano’s Trail
Details
Since many of us couldn’t get tickets to White Sands, let’s make the most of this opportunity and enjoy the Beaver Moon together on a local trail! We’ll start our hike at 7 pm, taking advantage of one of the few spots in the city where we can truly experience the night sky. This is a beautiful, quiet trail that we’ve hiked at night before, and it offers a unique experience under the moonlight.
Hike Details:
• Distance: 3 miles
• Elevation Gain: Approximately 300 ft
What to Bring:
• Dress warmly, as temperatures can drop quickly in the evening.
• Hiking boots and walking sticks, if you have them, for added stability on this nighttime trek.
• A flashlight or headlamp is essential to help navigate the trail in the dark.
• Don’t forget water to stay hydrated.
Meeting Point:
We’ll meet at the south end of the Walmart parking lot and carpool to the trailhead, as the larger parking area is closed at night.
Dogs are always welcome, as long as they’re on a leash.
The November Beaver Moon is named for the season when beavers prepare for winter, building their dams and lodges. It’s a perfect time to gather and enjoy the peaceful night air. Hope to see you there!
