Leebotwood, Gogbatch & Caer Caradoc
Details
A 10.4 mile circular starting from Leebotwood Village Hall heading towards the pretty village of Woolstaston, then a left turn towards Gogbatch, across the railway line making our way to the base of Caer Caradoc. We will walk the full length of the base before climbing to the top to enjoy the full scenic beauty then commence the last leg returning to the village hall. Apart from the climb to the top of Caer Caradoc (where we will take our time and allow plenty of rest stops) there are no difficult ascents, just a series of "undulations". There's quite a lot of lane walking but the lanes are extremely rural with very little traffic. There's also a section of true Pathfinders path which hasn't seen many visitors for a number of years. We can assure you this section is safe and secateur-man has already worked his magic so there's no excess bramble etc, but there is mud!
Because of the amount of narrow lane walking and more than the average number of styles this event may not be the best for dogs but, if you're prepared for lots of lifting, dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a short lead at all times.
