Noel Night 2024!!

Noel Night, in midtown Detroit, is a fabulous "free" holiday event that has been held annually for the last 50 years!! This year it is on Saturday December 7th, from 4:30 pm to 10 pm.

It takes place in and around the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), and numerous other cultural institutions, churches, businesses, etc. in the area. There are literally almost 100 venues featuring live musical performances, stage plays, special holiday performances, beautiful outdoor art installations, ice sculpting, carolling, free hot chocolate and homemade baked goods, and more…. There are so many events going on simultaneously at different venues that you can't possibly see it all. That is why I research it, in advance, every year to plan to see some of the BEST events!! This means we will be moving around a lot (involving significant brisk walking) to get from place to place and spending around 15-30 minutes at each venue.

We will meet in front of the DIA on Woodward Avenue at "The Thinker" bronze sculpture at 4:30 pm sharp. PLEASE BE ON TIME!! THERE WILL BE ANOTHER GROUP NEARBY SO LOOK FOR THE GROUP LED BY "VINCE". Paid parking is available in numerous lots in the area, and I usually park for free in the nearby neighborhoods and just walk several blocks. Dress weather appropriately as this is both an outdoor and indoor event.
