Pitch & Putt - The shortest Par 3 in LA - Optional lunch

Details

This is the most beginner 9 hole golf course in town. I've seen kids as young as 5 play this course. Most holes are about 50 yards give or take and the longest is 85 yards. You only need 2 clubs to play, a wedge of some kind and a putter. If anyone wants lunch/beer after, that's an option as well.

FAQ:

Do I need any experience?

You will have to have some driving range experience, and the ability to hit the ball in order to play. If you have never hit a golf ball at a range, this is not for you. In the future, I will set up range sessions for those who have never swung a golf club before. However, if you've been the the driving range, but never on an actual course, this is where you start. This place is like the training wheels of playing golf. Or, even if you're a scratch golfer and want to just work on you approach shot and putts, feel free to join.

Do I need to have any equipment?

Other than comfortable sneakers, you don't need to bring anything. I'll bring enough golf balls for everyone. If you have your own clubs and golf balls, by all means bring them. If you don't, you can rent a wedge and a putter for a few dollars. I also have some extra clubs lying around that I can bring. Some people (like myself) like to wear a golf glove, but it's not necessary.

What's the cost?

$9 each to play. $3 to rent clubs (if necessary)

Where?

SEA-AIRE GOLF COURSE
22730 Lupine Drive
Torrance, CA 90505

This course is tucked away in a residential neighborhood. You can follow the signs and the parking lot is pretty small with about 20 car spaces.

When?

Saturday Sep 21, 2024. 11:00AM. This course does not have reserved Tee Times. It's first come first serve, so all you have to do is show up. It takes about 1 hour to play the course.

This will be a very casual game. No need to keep score or be competitive. I play this course all the time to work on my short game. I mainly want to get the ball rolling (no pun intended), and get some activity going to build up the group. I will be posting more and more events in the future as the member count grows in number. As stated above, I will also be having driving range sessions where absolute beginners can join, even if you've never swung a golf club before. I'm not qualified to coach or give instruction, but I can share some tips if anyone is just getting started. I'm going to keep this limited to a single foursome for now just for logistical simplicity. I can open it up if there's more interest.
