Welcome to the Small Talk Circle, a safe space for individuals struggling with social anxiety. This Meetup is designed especially for those seeking support, understanding, and connection. Whether you experience performance shyness, anxiety, social phobia, or other forms of anxiety, our meetings aim to provide a supportive environment to practice and improve small talk skills. Together, we'll navigate various techniques and strategies, offering each other unwavering encouragement along the way. Join us to build confidence, forge meaningful connections, and overcome the challenges of social interaction.
Please note: This meetup is 100% online and free. Feel free to connect from anywhere. However, your participation is important. Practice makes perfect, so please sign-up if you are willing and able to participate fully in this session which includes having access to audio and video connections.
Common questions:
Will I be required to talk? Your participation is highly encourage. The whole point of small talk is actually being able to do some small talk.
Do I have to have social anxiety or shyness to participate? Not necessarily. If you want an opportunity to chat, you are welcomed to join.
How many people are in this session? We are currently keeping the number of people in these sessions low in order to have a more thoughtful and well-rounded process. We expect about 10 people per session. Please sign-up as soon as possible to guarantee your spot.
Is there an age requirement? This session is not lead by a therapist. Please do not sign up if you are under 18 years of age. 18+ only.
Is this a form of therapy? No. This is not a session lead by a therapist or certified/accredited counselor/psychologist. This can be considered a form of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). You can certainly participate in this Small Talk Circle session as a supplemental form of therapy.
