Intentional Motion Blur (IMB)
Details
This one comes from one of our members Delaney.
What a great topic. We are sometimes too caught up in trying to make that perfect clear and concise image that we can loose some of our creativity. Let's challenge ourselves to create the feel of movement or action and what better place than Wash Park. Plenty of runners, dog walkers, and cyclists to capture.
A little about ICM
This techique is frequently used to give the impression of movement and speed, and is often used in sports and wildlife photography.
There are several flavors of action blurs. The first is when the camera is panned to track a moving subject. This results in an image with a sharp, or semi-sharp subject, and blurred background. like the image I have attached in the meetup. The second is when the camera is still, and the subject is in motion. The outcome is a blurred subject, with a sharp background. Lastly we can blur both like in my meetup image. All result in an image that clearly tells the story of motion.
Hope you join us for this fun outing
