LITTLE HAVANA'S (CALLE 8) CULTURAL FRIDAY "NIGHT" PHOTO WORKSHOP

You are cordially invited to this “out-of-the-ordinary NIGHT photowalk event” to challenge your Street Photography skills, as well as sharpen your urban scenery talents. You’ll be able to practice Street / Documentary Photography under various types of lighting conditions, while anticipating and executing under exciting decisive moments opportunities.

Cultural Fridays at Calle Ocho are special events that happen on the third Friday of every month with displays of musicians, whimsical shops, interesting characters, Art Galleries, and the traditional Domino / Chess players at the Maximo Gomez Domino Park: You just need to come ready to "create" quality magic moments.

This event is guided by Rafael, an enthusiastic photographer and experienced photography instructor who has taught photography in South Florida. He has led many field photography outings for over 15 years and will be available along this photowalk for specific tips, technical consultation, and even offer many Little Havana’s area cultural and historic information.

We’ll meet and start our photowalk at the Domino’s Park entrance (1444 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135) at 6:30 PM - Please note that there is plenty of (pay with app) street parking along 8th Street and side Avenues… This workshop is a “One-of-a-Kind” technically supported photoshoot with attention to practical learning for which there is a $10 fee.

AccuWeather is forecasting a GOOD evening for our night photography photowalk with less than 10% chances of rain, “intermittent clouds” and temperatures in the high 70s, with calm winds around 5 mph.
WE’LL MEET ON THE SOUTH SIDEWALK ON SW 8 STREET NEXT TO DOMINO PARK’S ENTRANCE (1444 SW 8 Street, Miami 33135) AT 6:30 PM to go over the events that are happening, collect the $10 MeetUp fee, exchange technical information (such as camera settings), and talk about the best photo opps in the area. If registered for the event, you’ll receive a direct email with additional information.
It’s important to highlight that on ”Cultural Fridays” the City of Miami features one of the many Latin American countries with typical food stands, dance and music… in addition to the local Art Galleries such as Futurama.
As always, charge your battery, clean your camera / lens, and check memory card. I recommend packing light so you’re comfortable and can move around easily… Incidentally, tripods are not advisable due to being an impediment with foot traffic.
