Welcome! Many of our members are like family here, and you are more than welcome to join our family...We're quite often told we're the most fun and funniest meetup around - there's several members that will leave you in stitches if you hike with them...We're also HUGE into themed style hikes so if you're in that, you might just have found your tribe...
Our secret to our success is our charmingly small events...We like to preserve woods for future generations and are strong into Leave No Trace ethics here, so you won't see many large social events offered here except for anniversaries or charities...If you need to be in the woods with 50 other people, this isn't the group for you...Loudness in the woods with parade style hiking is not our thing...
Our members tend to be 45-55 on average, but we certainly welcome older and younger folks as well...We have everything from beginner hikers/kayakers/bikers to people who regularly hike 50+ miles, live on kayaks, and competition mountain bike...
In order to join, you must have a clearly identifiable profile picture. Picture of you and not you and others. This is for safety reasons and so members can recognize each other at events. If you feel the need to be anonymous among 6000+ members, this is not a good fit for you...Safety is a priority to our members here...
