JOHN CASSAVETES Woman under the Influence (1974) discussion and drinking

If you managed to still like Peter "Slip Me the Tongue" Falk after Husbands, this movie will be the final nail in the coffin. Gena Rowlands is amazing (she was nominated for this movie), and Peter Falk is again unbelievable (this will be our THIRD Peter Falk movie! He's a sumanabitch in every one!) I would say this is probably Cassavetes's most famous movie (he was nominated for Best Director as well). In some ways it's the most straightforward, but in some ways it's the most difficult to watch.

We're finally going to take some time to watch the movies of the greatest independent filmmaker, John Cassavetes. We'll watch 5. Not all of them, but I think the most important ones. (Some people might object to not including Gloria or Killing of a Chinese Bookie, but while they're both great, I don't think they represent Cassavetes as well as the others we'll watch.)
