Welcome to MoCo Barefoot Hiking and Recreation! This group is dedicated to recapturing the fun and innocence of being barefoot, both literally and figuratively.

If you enjoy being barefoot, are looking for opportunities to disconnect from the digital world and get outside, or are simply looking for a meetup group that embraces a laid-back, easy going vibe, this group is for you.

Please note that this is meant to be a social group, focused just as much on getting to know each other as whatever activity we’re doing. Therefore, most activities will be limited to 10-12 people.

Group activities will include anything that is typically done – or can be done – in bare feet. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

• Barefoot walks and hikes
• Beach volleyball
• River tubing/kayaking/standup paddleboarding
• Beach trips
• Dog walk meetup
• Exercise/yoga/meditation
• Bicycling
• Picnics
• Virtual, at-home events

Please note that while scientific studies have concluded that there are many health benefits to being barefoot, there are also risks, particularly for those who are new or unconditioned to being barefoot. It is up to you to determine when those risks are no longer acceptable, listen to your body and understand your limits.

By joining this group and attending events, you are agreeing that you are participating at your own risk and are solely (no pun intended) responsible for navigating any risks or hazards you may encounter.
