Discover this 3.8-mile loop trail near Rowe, New Mexico. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 18 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, running, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. We'll meander along the river for a little while and explore. If you were speed walking the above time would be correct but with the drive and enjoying ourselves, I've adjusted the time to a more realistic return time. Ignore alltrails which says this area is only open on weekends. I just spoke with park ranger and this area will be open on a Thursday.

Dogs are not allowed in this area only perhaps because of bears. when out there recently we saw bear scat.
Bring binocs if you have them as this is good birding territory. also wear good hiking shoes/boots. Bring poles if you need them, hat, sunscreen, plenty of water, snacks. We will meet to carpool at Albertson's. please donate $ to your driver.
