Cerillos Hills State Park Hike

This is a loop hike of my own design. see photo section for route. Approximately 3.7-4.5 miles. ~400 foot Elevation gain. Trail is rocky and you need to be sure footed. On one section of the trail we will be going down rock stairs. So if in doubt or even a light snow, carry microspikes. Wear good shoes/boots, wear sunscreen, bring hat, sunglasses, plenty of water and snack. Best to dress in layers. We will stop ~ 1/2 way for snack/lunch.

Meet at the 599 rail runner station to carpool. See photo for directions. There are over 200 free spaces. I have state park pass and can take 3. Friendly, leashed dogs okay. If you don't have park pass, it is $5 to get into park for day per car. If you'd like to meet us there, at the park, be there at 10am. please if you choose this option let me know and if you choose to carpool please be on time. We will wait no longer then about 5 minutes.
