Did you know that Sandy Hook is home to the largest native Holly Forest on the East Coast? Let's take a little time away from holiday hoopla to explore this 300 acre hidden Sandy Hook gem. (Don't worry, we won't explore all 300 acres.)

The forest is located on the bayside of the peninsula at the northern end of Spermaceti Cove across from the former Nike missile launch site. A sandy walking path meanders through the forest.

We will meander along the path, which is an easy, level walk, until we get tired or lost and then we will follow our breadcrumbs and meander back the way we came. After our forest adventure, we will have lunch at the Mule Barn Tavern.

AccuWeather promises a 41 degree day with no rain so bundle up! It will be invigorating!
