Easy Saturday morning hike: Fairland Recreational Park
Details
Let's explore this 4.5-5 mile loop trail near Burtonsville, Maryland. It is an easy route, and we should be able to complete it in about 2 hours. The trail starts as a paved path but soon transitions into a wooded area with gentle hills (5% grade) and a few bridges over a stream. This is a great neighborhood trail hidden in the woods. We might encounter some hikers, runners, or bikers, but it's usually not very crowded, especially on the unpaved section.
I recommend wearing hiking boots due to roots and some stones along the path. Poles are optional, but water is essential.
Post-hike socializing is optional and to be determined.
