Details

忘年会 (ぼうねんかい), Bōnenkai, or “year-end party,” is held at the end of year in order to forget the troubles and hard times of the year.

(年を忘れるために”忘年会”を行います。 笑)

Well, perhaps rather than saying “forget,” it’s more like “Letting bygones be bygones” or “Resetting ourselves for the coming New Year.” It’s a party held not with feelings of regret for the past, but with feelings of motivation to start afresh and do one’s best in the future.

This year's Bōnenkai is at Rantei in downtown Santa Clara. We have a reservation for up to 30 people, starting at 7:00 pm. For those wanting to continue the party, Taplands Brewery is walking distance and open until 10 pm.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. If you've RSVPed but cannot attend, please update it so that someone on the waitlist can join. We will not be able to seat extra people.

Beginners and advanced speakers are welcome. We'd like everyone to have a good time.

Hope to see you there!
