Tyson & Paul Fight + Commander

Update this week only: due to request, we are moving this to Friday so we can watch the Tyson fight while playing.

Bring your commander deck. Wee will still play but may get occasionally distracted by the fight. Snacks are welcome, I have drinks and can order some food .. pizza?

Hey gang! I'm starting to host again. This is the first event I've personally hosted in a couple years. I've just been popping in on other people's events during that time (love what you all are doing).

This will be a weekly Casual Commander event, usually at my place in Alexandria, but sometimes other players' houses. Max capacity is 6.

Power level: below CEDH. You can absolutely play competitive decks but with emphasis on casual competitive.

Time: starts at 5:30 but show up any time after

Format: We play [Respawn] Commander with a point system. The added respawn mechanic is friendlier because even if you die, you get to keep playing. You win by defeating 3 players across 3 different turns. If you die, you respawn with 5 turns in a bubble (no interactions) before rejoining in turn order. Global/instant wins give you 2 points and you must respawn.

House rules:

• 1 free extra mulligan, plus 1 extra for any zero or 6+ land hands
• We follow the ban list, including Mana Crypt (for now). But can rule zero before we start if everyone agrees to consider specific banned cards, UN cards, etc.
• Proxies are okay, but must be readable
• Alcohol is okay, but must use my cup holders and if you get too drunk or rowdy, you are out
• I'll provide snacks and some basic drinks, plus water. Bring more if you want.

Note: Location is provided below, but know that you can easily reach my place via metro or 395 to King Street exit.
