What we’re about

Group purpose: To read a wide variety of books, engage in lively discussions and make wonderful friendships!
When: Meetups are held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday (exception Nov and/or Dec depending when Thanksgiving and Christmas fall the meetup may be pushed up to the 2nd Wed of the month - see our Meetup page for exact dates).
Meetup location: We are meeting at restaurants around the Grand Strand and will post the location at least 2 weeks prior to the meeting.
Book selection: Our monthly selection is generally chosen by the member who has volunteered to lead the discussion for that particular month. Please see me (Vicki, your organizer) after one of our monthly Meetups if you would like to volunteer or send me a message (via the message organizer button on left hand side of our main meetup page). I try to schedule our Meetups about 2-3 months in advance.
Important -- ACTIVE participation is a requirement for membership. Visiting this Meetup page on a regular basis is part of your active membership. Members who have not attended a Meetup in person within a rolling 6 month period and/or members who have not logged on to this site within a rolling 4 month period will be deleted from the membership roster and may re-join if circumstances will permit their active membership. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Fees: Starting January 1, 2023 the membership fee is $10 per year. The fee will be used to offset the cost of using the Meetup platform which is currently $214 per year. Meetup will administer the collection of dues at the time of sign up. They charge a 7.5% =.50 handling fee for this. Here is Meetup's refund policy -

Annual Member Dues are refundable if:

The group was closed (or a member was removed from the group) within 3 months of their payment, and the member account is in good standing.
There have been no scheduled events since a member paid to join the group, and the member account is in good standing.
