Photowalk: Gruene

Shops, a river, and cypress trees. Gruene has a wide range of photographic subjects, so let's explore. Let's plan on meeting in downtown Gruene, in front of the Gruene General Store, on Saturday morning, Nov. 23, at 9:00 AM. Most shops may not open until 10:00 AM, so we might have an opportunity to avoid crowds. We'll wander about, check out the buildings, and (with luck!) color-changing cypress trees on the Guadalupe river.

Gruene is about 75 minutes south of Round Rock (in decent traffic), so those that would like to carpool can meet at 7:30 AM in La Frontera in Round Rock. The usual spot: in front of the Austin Telco Credit Union, behind Applebee's. We'll depart from there at 7:45 AM.

There is a large general parking lot (1622 Gruene Rd). Getting there early should help secure a space.

Let's plan on a (slightly) early lunch at Gruene River Grill following, at 11:00 AM. Return to Austin by 1:30 PM-ish.
