Introduction to Metal Clay (Fine Silver) Instructor: Teva Chafin
(Projects: Pendant, Earrings and/or Charms) No previous experience with metal clay required.
Workshop times: Saturday12/14/24 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (1 hour break for lunch)
Class fee: $155 fee include instructors fee, includes all necessary supplies and use of tools and consumables and 2 day admission to the show

Come explore your creativity while learning the skills and techniques of creating your own personal design of jewelry using Fine Silver Metal Clay. We will begin with the very basics of Metal Clay and move beyond in techniques and skills. Techniques will include but not limited to planning your design, rolling and cutting clay, attaching a bail to your pendant, drying, firing, burnishing and patina.
No experience necessary. Great for beginners and those experienced as well. Class fee includes the clay, instruction and use of all tools/supplies. You will create your very own pendant of fine silver. In addition, you will be free to make other pieces as your time and clay allows. This class is an excellent way to learn about Metal Clay and its abilities to transform your greatest creative ideas into Fine Silver Art Jewelry.
She is the founder of Teva Jane, a unique jewelry company, where she uses only the best sterling silver, leather and pearls to create each individual piece of jewelry.
Teva has been teaching Precious Metal Clay and jewelry design for over 13 years. She has taught art classes across the US in places like Arrowmont School of Arts in Tennessee, Purdue University in Indiana and William Holland School of Lapidary Arts.
She has been featured in various publication and participated in too many juried exhibits and shows to list.
Her designs are inspired by her surroundings, the essence of life and the journey we are all on. Be it mountains, streams, trees or valleys, Teva Jane creates unique pieces inspired by nature.
Teva Chaffin is a true lover of nature. But she is also a survivor. From her life experience she helps empower others to see the beauty that can arise from trauma. Her pieces are made with a true sense of tenderness and care. She is an advocate for helping women to appreciate their uniqueness and celebrate their victories.
She enjoyed teaching and inspiring others to dream big. She believes anything is possible and encourages her students not to limit themselves.
She believes we each have incredible strength. We are each shaped in the perfect image. We each bring light to the world. But most importantly every one of us has the ability to transform ourselves without being hindered by others.
Cold Connection Instructor: Jennifer Murray

No fire or torch required! (but available)Learn how to connect different kinds of metals, findings and even leather by riveting and wiring. You can even set a stone without soldering or using a torch. During this class students will have the opportunity to complete several projects with copper, brass and aluminum metals, jewelry findings, leather, and cabochons. Additional items will be available for purchase.
As an instructor with the Middle Tennessee Gem and Mineral Society, Jennifer Murray enjoys teaching others about the art of metalsmithing and cold connection. Students learn through hands-on demonstrations and receive individual guidance.
Jennifer designs projects that encourage creativity and apply learned skills, allowing students to build portfolios. Students learn to use a variety of tools and materials, ensuring they understand proper techniques and safety protocols.
Jennifer also encourages students to experiment with their designs and develop their unique styles. Having several decades of experience with creating and selling her own jewelry and art, Jennifer enjoys inspiring others and fostering a collaborative environment where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and critiques
