What we’re about
Few places are as beautiful and accessible as Boston's Arnold Arboretum! If you want to get to know some folks and explore some wonderful paths, this group's for you!
Our walks are 1.5 - 2hrs at a moderate pace, with gentle climbs to an elevation of 200 - 240 feet. (The Arboretum has three scenic hills.) We explore a different path every week. View our photo album!
I'm not an Arboretum docent, so don't hesitate to sign up for an "official" tour if you'd like to learn detailed information about the Arboretum. If you enjoy these walks, please consider donating to the Arboretum: https://arboretum.harvard.edu/

See all- Nature Walk, Arnold ArboretumForest Hill Road, Boston, MA
Few places are as beautiful and accessible as the Arnold Arboretum. We look forward to seeing you, and here is a link to our photo album. Directions to the Arboretum are below.
Directions: We meet at the Forest Hills Gate at 10 AM every Saturday. (This is not the gate directly across from Forest Hills T Station - that's Washington Gate. Forest Hills Gate is more accessible to both pedestrians and drivers.)
From Forest Hills Station on the Orange Line, turn left as you exit the turnstile and exit through the door marked "Arnold Arboretum."
Continue left to the Arborway, which is parallel to the Arboretum. (You'll cross the street to get from the T Station to the Arborway.) Walk uphill on the left sidewalk of the Arborway, following the enclosure wall to your immediate left. You'll reach the Forest Hills Gate in 5-10 minutes. If you're driving, there's parking on the Arborway.
Our first stop will be the Visitor's Center, a 10-minute walk. There, we can use the restrooms or fill up our water bottles. Then, we'll explore a different path each week.
This is a moderate walk with some uphill sections. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring extra water if the weather is warm. The walk will take 1.5 - 2 hrs, but you can leave anytime. You're encouraged to take a printed map at the Visitor's Center.
If you enjoy these walks, please consider donating to the Arboretum. I'm not an Arboretum docent, just someone who enjoys nature. Detailed information about the Arboretum is available at the Visitor's Center and at arboretum.harvard.edu
