What we’re about
Do you want to: lose weight, improve your health, and feel great?
Then the NEO (Northeast Ohio) Rucking and Outdoors Group is for you.
What is Rucking?
Rucking is nothing more than walking or hiking while wearing a backpack. That’s it.
That’s what the Northeast Ohio Rucking group is all about.
Why Join Us?
There are several good hiking and adventure groups out there. So if you hiked wearing a pack with other groups you may be at disadvantage.
However our group is unique because everyone that hikes with us is wearing a ruck (backpack) and is walking with a load.
This group is for all ages and fitness levels and we will hike at a pace that is comfortable for all attendees. No one will be left behind.
The Benefits of Rucking:
Rucking Helps you Lose Body Fat
Rucking Helps Your Heart
Rucking Is Less Stressful on the Body Than Running
Rucking Builds Strength

Rucking Helps prepare you for Backpacking, Camping, and Hunting Trips
Rucking Gets You Outside
Use Rucking for Fitness:
You can use rucking as part of your fitness routine along with other activities such as jogging, yoga, resistance training and more.
You can also go rucking to training for other activities and events such as backpacking, camping and hunting.
Rucking Gets You Social:
Humans are social animals. We get sad and depressed when we’re lonely. Research has shown that one of the best ways to quickly get people feeling connected is to have them move in unison together either through exercise.
By rucking with a group you get the bonding benefit of moving together in a group, along with the ability to talk without gasping.
How did Rucking Start?
Rucking has its origins in the military, where soldiers wear a rucksack, which is another word for backpack, filled with provisions and equipment and then march with it for hours or even days on end. Modern soldiers ruck with packs that can weigh 100 pounds or more.
Also:
We will ruck at various locations primarily in Northeast Ohio and possibly other locations in the state.
Please provide a real current picture of yourself and a real first name that can identify you. It causes a lot of unnecessary confusion when I don't know what somebody looks like when I'm trying to assemble the group at an event.
If you don’t have a ruck don’t worry you can still join us for great conversation and fun in the outdoors.
