Speaker Series: Supported Decision Making
Details
Have you heard of Supported Decision Making?
Supported Decision-Making (SDM) allows individuals with disabilities to make choices about their own lives with support from a team of people they choose.
Supporters are selected by the person with the disability to field questions and review options to help the person with the disability make their own choices. They can be family members, co-workers, friends, and past or present providers.
Supported Decision-Making is an alternative to guardianship. Instead of having a guardian make a decision for the person with the disability, Supported Decision-Making allows the person with the disability to make his or her own decisions.

This event is free and facilitated solely by volunteers. We kindly suggest a donation per participant so that we can continue providing materials and venues for our events. We will never turn an individual away for not being able to provide a donation.
