- Centurion Way (Chichester to West Dean) Linier Walk, lunch in pub, Bus Return.Meet in Westgate, at the turning area outside the back gate of Bishop Luffa school, Chichester
Join me for this linier walk along the Centurion Way, (Lunch at the Selsey Arms) with bus return to Chichester.
The Centurion Way is a 9K (5.5 mile) path that runs between Chichester, Lavant and West Dean following the old dismantled Chichester to Midhurst railway line, which closed in 1991.
The route is mostly flat or slightly hilly. The southern section is tarmacked to the north of Lavant. Lavant to West Dean is compacted stone.
There are refreshments available in West Dean, with a possible comfort stop at Lavant
Download the Centurion Way leaflet, which contains a route map and historical facts on the disused railway and development of the route.
The leaflet has further information about the various points of interest you can visit along the way. MAPThe 60 bus runs every 20 minutes between the finish and Chichester
Please ensure that you chose parking at a carpark where you are able to leave your vehicle for the allotted time
We will meet to begin the walk in Westgate, at the turning area outside the back gate of Bishop Luffa school, however the bus will return to Chichester Railway Station so we will then need to walk to wherever we have parked
As usual with NBHT no event fee unless you haven’t paid your one off joining fee of £3.
Please be courteous to the host and amend your RSVP if you cannot attend.
