What's worse than spending a lot of time and effort only to get nowhere? Attempting tutorials online is one of the most common ways to learn to code. However, learners who aren't DELIBERATE about how they use tutorials may find that all their time and effort result in no meaningful understanding and only a few underwhelming projects.
If these same people then think that the solution to their problem is another tutorial, they are in Tutorial Hell.
This talk goes over what tutorial Hell is, why so many people get trapped there, what learning principles tutorials ignore, and most importantly, how to escape tutorial Hell--and get MORE out of the time you spend learning.
NOTE: We aren't writing code during this meetup. It's more about common problems with the learning process and with online tutorials.
This event is on Google Meets, and I'll post the link HERE about an hour before it starts.
