We did this last year, and it was a beautiful, free event. Let's go back.

Let's meet at the Maritime Center, 555 Long Wharf Drive, and see the lovely, free Ronald McDonald House charity event, "Trees of Hope." This event is open to the public daily from December 7 through December 15 and will feature over 150 beautiful holiday displays donated and sponsored by individuals, local businesses and community organizations. Trees of Hope is their largest fundraising event and instrumental in securing the funds necessary to support the brave children and families at Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut.

Then, weather permitting, we will walk along Long Wharf to the nature preserve (about 2 to 2.5 miles), a hidden gem with nice views of the harbor. The Long Wharf Nature Preserve spans 15 acres at low tide and consists of grassland and tall cottonwood trees, mud flat, dune, salt marsh, and upland.

**Parking**: There is ample free parking on Long Wharf Drive.

**Meet:** Inside the Maritime Center entrance at 555 Long Wharf Drive.

**Dress:** If you are doing the walk, please dress appropriately for the colder weather. Wear sturdy supportive footwear as the preserve might be uneven in areas.

If anyone is interested, we can walk to **Ikea** later and get food in the cafeteria (surprisingly good and well priced).
