November Jam: Thurs, 11/21 - 7-9 Euphoria, Studio 2 [NO GUITAR SLOTS LEFT]

Details

NOTE: Please read the “What we’re about” section on the home page for important details!

Place: Euphoria Studios, 40 W. 27th St., 9th FL, Studio 2 NYC. [please view on website; it is a superbly equipped, large room]

Charts: The NEW master chart list is here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/pq4m1d2nhne1rtgt3g41z/AAQsqQzgzHt-gayaZXwgbxI?rlkey=z4j7m29d3u31snpx6ybjodf4x&st=4jh9r3qm&dl=0

NOTE: This is NEW set of charts as Art jettisoned the old list... New suggestions are welcome.

INSTRUMENTS/VOCALISTS: listed as they register:

LIMIT: 2 keyboards, 3 guitars, 2 bass, 2 drums, 2 harps/horns, 2 vocalists. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to have unlimited solos given time constraints. 3 guitarists maximum per song. Length of solos and of sets at my discretion to maximize participation.

REGISRATION as of 10/31:
Keys - David P
Guitar - Mark T
Guitar - Andrew
Guitar - David C

ABOUT THE LIMITED NUMBER OF INSTRUMENTS/VOCALISTS: The reason for the limit above is to assure a reasonable mix and to avoid having too many at the session on some instruments [or vocals]. Once slots are filled, I will list others who register as "Alternative" on their instrument or vocal. Late RSVPs over the limit above may not be able to attend.

Non-Playing/Singing Visitors: We will have room for a few visitors. BUT, each visitor must still register.

PAYMENT NOTES: Each person's share of the rental space is $38. When you register, you can pay via CC using Pay Pal, or message me to pay via Venmo.

CANCELLATION: If I must cancel, I will refund your deposit.

IMPORTANT - IF YOU CANCEL: Once you have registered if you cancel, I can only refund your portion of the space rental if I can find someone to take your place.

Suggestions for jamming civility and organization:

A few of my suggestions to make the session better. Those of you who have been at many jams will recognize these ideas:

  1. Song Director: Each song will have one person who is in charge of directing the song [ tempo; solos; intros; counting down; wind up]. I will start out in this role, but am happy to surrender to others.
  2. One primary rhythm instrument at a time: to avoid mud...
  3. Volume down when others solo: Please!! This is REALLY important. No really - - please stop playing when it is not your turn...please
  4. 2 Chorus solo limits: to allow all to have a chance to play.
  5. Please volunteer if you want to play/sing. The room can be loud...
  6. Key changes: If you would like to change keys please give advance notice!

Finally, please go over the charts in advance of the session.

Afterwards: A drink for the willing nearby...
