We recently dined at One Fifth for their Whole Pig Dinner, and I was so impressed with the "other" items on their menu that I just have to go back for a regular, order off the menu wine night.

This will be an 8 person dinner, there will be one CA Chardonnay and 2 red Bordeaux and 2 red new world Pinot Noirs.

The cost for this event is $56, which is for the wine, and the corkage.

Please read and understand the group's cancellation policy. If you take spot, then cancel, and no one else takes the spot, you will not receive a refund or credit. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows or late cancellations (unless someone else takes your spot). All cancellations are subject to a $6 service fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the event will be subject to a $10 service fee.

NOTE: Meetup has started charging a "Partner Fee" that is above and in addition to the listed price of the event. It comes to approximately $8 more for each RSVP. You will see this charge when you complete your rsvp and pay for the event. MEETUP+ members are exempt from this charge.

The Wines (notes will be distributed at the dinner):

2014 Knights Bridge Chardonnay Pont de Chevalier ($40) - CT 92.6. This might be a little old for Sonoma County, CA Chardonnay, but lets find out!

2015 Evening Land Vineyards Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard ($35) - CT 91.5, From Oregon's Willamette Valley.

2013 Kistler Pinot Noir Cuvée Natalie Silver Belt ($120) - CT 93.5, WA 95+

2005 Château Lascombes ($85) - CT 92.2, WA 95, "A gorgeous example of Lascombes, the 2005, a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, continues the remarkable turn-around in quality that began five years ago. A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish. This is a brilliant, modern-styled Margaux that should age for 30-35 years."

2006 Château Léoville Poyferré ($80) - CT 91.2, WA 92, "Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Léoville Poyferré has one of the most harmonious and complete bouquets from Saint Julien: very well-defined blackberry, briary and chalky scents, real focus and delivery here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, ripe tannin matched with well-judged acidity. Like the 2006 Léoville-Barton, it is stubborn and backward, but there is clearly harmony and focus on the finish, the new oak deftly assimilated in the fabric of the wine. This is a lovely wine from Didier Cuvelier. Tasted January 2016."
