Not a beginner's hike (7 miles x 1600 ft elevation gain with some off trail part)

We'll keep the group small this time, as this hike will include off-trail (aka bushwhack) part as well as some trails not on the map. We need to stay close together in those sections. Another reason a small group is the very limited parking space at the trailhead for this hike.

We'll start from Rebellious Stables (1152 Haverstraw Road, Pomona, NY 10970, https://rebelliousstables.horse/ ) at 10 am. The turn off from Rt 202 is very easy to miss, as there is no obvious sign. --- Please check the 'pin' on the map carefully. Beware that Google Map often points to a slightly different location for 'Rebellious Stables'. You have to park on the right side of this small side road before the bridge on Mahwah River. You are not permitted to park beyond this bridge.

From there, we'll follow unmarked trails towards Horse Stable Mtn. Eventually the trail disappears and we'll bushwhack to Sherwood Path. Once we reach Stone Memorial Shelter, we'll mostly be on marked trails. --- We'll go through 'The Egg', Pine Meadow Lake, Catamount Mtn and the beautiful Panther Mtn, before heading back to the trailhead.
