What we’re about

Hikes, biking, walks, and social activities for singles over 50 years old who live in or are visiting the NJ/NY/PA area.

We have lots of new and long-time members, and to make sure everyone is on the same page, here is a reminder of the guidelines for the group:

  • RSVPs to events - sign up for an event only if you fully intend to attend that event. If you are not able to attend remove yourself from the list, even if you are on the waitlist. Do not wait until the last minute. Repeat offenders (those who don't show for events or repeatedly cancel last-minute) may be moved from the "going" list to the end of the waitlist at the event organizer's discretion.
  • Membership dues are YOUR responsibility - There is a 60-day trial period so you can see if the group and you are a good fit. Dues are $5 ANNUALLY. If your 60-day trial runs out and you don't pay the $5 annual dues, Meetup will remove you from the group. If your annual dues are overdue, you will be removed from the group. Annual $5 dues are can be paid in cash to any event organizer but it's easiest to set up credit card payment with Meetup.
  • Dogs - Dogs are ONLY permitted on specifically designated Dog Friendly hikes.
  • No Smoking - NJ State law S-2534 prohibits smoking on all public beaches and at state, county and municipal parks.
  • Events are At Your Own Risk - All of our events are "At your own risk." The group organizer and event organizers take no responsibility or liability for the outcome of your participation in on of the group's events. Events should be at public places with at least 3 people in attendance.
  • Contacting other group members - please be respectful of the other members of the group. Do not contact multiple members to tell them you think they're cute or whatever. Any harassing, threatening, bullying, degrading, hate-based, or racially/politically biased messages will be reported to Meetup.com and will have you removed from the group. If an event host posts their phone number it is for the day of the event, regarding the event only.
  • Guests - if the event organizer permits guests, they must be at least 25 years old and it is assumed they agree to all of the guidelines for this group.
