Volunteer Work Day - Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue

Join NJveg and Vegan in NJ for a volunteer work day! We'll be helping out the vegan non-profit sanctuary Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue. We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, sunblock, work gloves, work boots, and clothes that can get dirty. We suggest wearing layers (because even if it's cold outside, it might get warm inside the barns), and bringing a mask (for dust in the barns). If you'd like to donate, you can do so at the sanctuary or online.

Things you might do while volunteering: cleaning animals' stalls (scooping poop!), sweep barns, replace old and dirty hay with new hay, clean and fill waterers, rake, clean feed bowls, pet goats, dust, mop, cuddle cows, etc. After lunch (around 2pm), we'll hangout with some of the animals. All food on site will always be vegan. Let us know if you have any food allergies.

Must be 16 or older, 14 if accompanied by a parent. Arrive a little early because waivers need to be signed (your first time volunteering only). Please sign up only if you are serious about attending and plan to attend for the full time. If anything comes up and you need to cancel, let us know ASAP, so that we may fill your spot.
