The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
The world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station—elevation 8,516 feet—observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails. Palm Springs Windmill Tour (recommended)
The tour starts with a display yard of historical artifacts from the 1980s, including successful and failed wind turbine designs. You then continue through the wind farm to see more artifacts, large blades, and operating wind turbines over 400 feet tall, where you can get up close and take pictures. The tour ends with a stop at the Indigo Energy Facility, a natural gas peaker electrical power plant. You then exit from 19th Avenue to Indian Canyon Drive, knowing much more about renewable energy!

Palm Springs Air Museum (suggested)
Palm Springs Air Museum is where history comes alive and visitors can get close to the vintage World War II and Korea/Vietnam era aircraft. One of the top 14 aviation museums in the world, 59 flyable and static planes are on display inside four climate-controlled hangars totaling 86,000 square feet inside with more outside on the tarmac. Many of the Museum docents actually flew these planes and served on the ships. The four hangars are organized by theme, with related exhibits lining the walls. Palm Springs is about 4 hours from Phoenix. Shared cost for the rental van is $60. Please add in the cost of the tram ticket based on the category you fall in. I will purchase tickets for the group. **NOTE:** TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE FOR THE TRAM.
