Camino de Santiago: from Křivoklát to Nižbor

We start the hike with a visit to one of the most complex and beautiful castles in the Czech Republic - Křivoklát (Please, mind that we are not going inside the castle. We will see it only from the lookouts.). Křivoklát Castle was founded in the 12th century, was rebuilt in Romanesque style in the 13th century, and in the Gothic style in the 15th century. And while many owners invited the best architects of their time to reconstruct the castle, it never served the purpose kings were hoping for. Instead of a place for entertaining court life, Křivoklát was used either as a safe haven or as a prison. From the castle we take a long path to the city called Nižbor. The path is a part of the Czech Camino de Santiago (called Železná Way). We pass small villages and fields and finish our journey in the local bar called Zastávka. The exterior and interior of this bar will surprise you, as well as the story behind it and amazing food and beer - for those who deserved it after 18 kilometers of walking.

MEETING PLACE AND TIME
At 8:30 a.m. outside the Main train station (Hlavní nádraží), in the park Vrchlického sady in front of Potrefená husa pub (https://goo.gl/maps/pQQfz8Jt2MeUWxeCA).

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
We recommend comfortable hiking or running shoes, some water, fully charged phone, warm and waterproof clothes in case of raining. We will end our trip in a small bar in Nižbor. You will be able to get warm food there. However, it is recommended to bring some snacks since you might get hungry before we reach the brewery.

DIFFICULTY: HARD (around 19 km, short uphills)

Early bird price: 600 CZK per person, after 18 Nov: 700 CZK per person. The fee includes train tickets, services of the skilled and friendly guide; excluding food, drinks, insurance.

CANCELLATION POLICY
For a full refund, cancel at least 72 hours in advance of the start date of the trip. For a 50 % refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the trip.
