What we’re about

This group is dedicated to the fantastic and fun women in the area who are not moms. No knocks to moms whatsoever, they are awesome!

With so many options for moms-only friend groups, it was a great chance for non-moms to have a similar opportunity to make friends with others who have similar life circumstances.

This group will be a great fit for you if:

  • You are not a mom. There’s a lot of nuance between childfree and childless, but we’re not going to get into all of that here. If you are not a mom, you are welcome in this group. Period.
  • You are a woman over 35 or thereabouts
  • You are local to the Lowell, Ma area or don’t mind commuting to the area for events
  • You’re into food, cocktails/mocktails, books, music, movies, “gentle” nature, beach time, museums/art, fashion, travel, animals, entrepreneurship, dancing, fitness, and/or theater
  • You appreciate building meaningful connections with smart, funny, strong, and interesting women

This group is not for you if:

  • You are a mom, yes this also includes mothers of adult children no matter their housing situation. (Sorry, we love you all, but this is not the group for you)
  • You’re not a woman. This is absolutely a safe space for women only, and as such, is a dude-free zone.
  • You are looking for a party-type vibe or looking for dating opportunities
  • You inject politics into every discussion
  • You are intolerant, racist, judgmental, and/or just a jerk of a human

The goal is for events to be held monthly, at a minimum. Once the vibe of the members is established, this piece can be defined a bit more.

A few group rules:

  1. If you have two RSVP no-shows, you will be bounced from the group. To be clear, a no-show is when you are marked as going, and you don’t show up without moving your rsvp to not going or giving me a heads up. Most event sizes are on the smaller side, please don’t take up a spot that you can’t commit to.
  2. (Please) no advertising your own groups or trying to organize meetups within the group platform. Most have very good intentions, but for the safety of everyone, only Non-Moms Group meetups will be allowed to be advertised or shared here.
  3. The safety and privacy of group members and myself is the #1 priority. Threats, bullying, harassment, or mean girl behavior will not be tolerated or accepted in the group. You will be removed from the group swiftly if you’re bringing shady nonsense in.
  4. Show up on time or give a heads up if you’re running late. Life happens, we all run late at times. 😊👋 This helps me not stare anxiously at the door or look around for you.
