HIKE POSTPONED TO NOV 23

The hike features 8 miles round trip (out and back) and a 2550 foot gain in elevation. Based on the distance, elevation gain and rugged terrain this is not a hike for beginners, and hopefully everyone will bring poles and or at least gloves. All Trails: Fiske Peak via Blue Ridge Trail.

Fiske Peak has an elevation of 2870 feet and is located on the Blue Ridge overlooking the Cache Creek gorge in Yolo County. The trailhead is assessed from the Lower Cache Creek Regional Park about five miles west of the town of Rumsey on State Highway 16. Expect a $10 per car parking fee. There is a restroom at the parking lot.

Starting at Cache Creek the first two miles are through shaded Coast Range forest; once the trail reaches the ridge there is very little shade but on a clear day one can see the Sierran peaks, the Sutter Buttes and Mount Lassen.

Meet at 7:30 am. The drive from the 11th & P Streets open parking lot takes about 1.5 hours via the town of Woodland.

Current forecast is sunny with a high temperature of 60 degrees with winds of about 10 miles per hour
If carpooling, expect to be back at the carpool area at 5:30 pm or so. Please consider paying the driver $5 per hour of driving.
Please bring sturdy hiking footwear, plenty of water, lunch and snacks, poles, sunscreen, and hat, and layers. Even in summer it can be extremely windy and chilly at the top.

Please be aware: you are responsible for your own health and safety. This website's organizers and leaders are unpaid volunteers. Although we may be able to help with stuck zippers, scrapes, and minor cuts, we cannot set a bone so please watch your step. We also cannot de-fib you, and there is no hidden escalator on the hills, so please assess your abilities before deciding to sign up. See you on the trail!! :)
