Lake Ilsanjo is a pretty man-made lake and reservoir in Trione-Anadel State Park. We will go up the Vietnam Vet Memorial Trail to the bridge over Spring Creek and then continue on Spring Creek Trail to Lake Ilsanjo. Spring Creek is known for it's rocky and sometimes steep character; it takes some keen attention but otherwise is a nice trail along a pretty creek and ravine. We will take the clockwise route around the lake. We'll take a break at the lake to relax and admire the morning beauty of the lake. We will return on Canyon Trail which is a rocky fire road.
The route: Vietnam Veteran Memorial Trail, Spring Creek Trail, Lake Trail, Canyon Trail, Parktrail.

Sonoma County is cooling down and it looks to be a nice day. We'll meet at 9:00 am at the intersection of Parktrail Drive and Comfrey Place in Santa Rose. We will start walking soon after assembling. Please be prompt and ready to hike. There are no restrooms at the trailhead and no water available so plan accordingly. There is an outhouse on the lake that we will pass when we circle the lake. Plan for a 2 mph average pace.

Optional stop after the hike at a local restaurant for lunch and/or coffee.

There’s plenty of free street parking

If I need to cancel the hike for any reason I'll make the decision and send a notification to your email through MeetUp by 7:00 am that day. Please be sure your settings allow communications to you via email. Also check your Meetup app/site before you head off that morning for any comments or updates. No news is good news!

No-Show policy:
If you're signed up and can't make it please cancel by 7:00 am the day of the hike so we are not waiting for you at the trailhead. If you don't attend and haven't cancelled by 7am or contacted the organizer (that's me, Ruth), you will be marked as a no-show. Repeat no-shows will be removed from the group. Thanks for being considerate of your fellow nature enthusiasts.
